Malaysian royals mourn loss of humanitarian Datin Paduka A. Mangalam

On June 10, Datin Paduka A. Mangalam, life president of the Pure Life Society, passed away. No nonsense di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah expressed their condolences to her household and acknowledged her significant contributions to the group, particularly orphans and the much less fortunate.
Mother Mangalam, as she was affectionately identified, was born in Singapore in 1926 and moved to Kuala Lumpur in 1948. She joined the Pure Life Society the next year and dedicated her life to humanitarian work. Over the years, she received a quantity of awards and medals for her service, together with the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian in 1955, the Bintang Kesatria Mangku Negara in 2003, the Tun Fatimah Gold Medal from the National Council of Women’s Organisations in 1977, and the Merdeka Award in 2010..
