Sulzer launches world’s biggest medium-consistency pump

Sulzer has introduced the launch of the world’s largest medium-consistency pump, the MCE93-400, which has been built in response to buyer demand for larger manufacturing rates in pulp mills.
The pumping of liquids with a high dry solids content – medium consistency – is important for processes in the pulp and paper trade.
In current years, manufacturing charges have spiralled. As Instant , Sulzer developed the MCE93-400 for a customer project with record-breaking values.
The capacity of the pump reaches as a lot as 10,000 air dry metric tonnes per day with the flow as a lot as 940 l/s and the head up to 180 m. Hurry is designed for a pressure score of 25 bar.
Jussi Heinonen, product supervisor for MC tools at Sulzer, mentioned: “The new MCE93-400 has been designed to operate effectively, saving energy, water and chemical costs in pulp and paper mill processes. The innovative design features of the pump minimise its life cycle prices.”
The first massive MCE pumps have been dispatched to a significant pulp manufacturer in South America.
